Dr. Holger Scholl is one of the global drivers behind establishing and advancing Conversational AI in the automotive industry. During the last two decades he and his team have worked closely with OEMs and Tier-1s around the globe, bringing many voice innovations into the field.

As Vice President Customer Solutions and AI Transformation of Cerence AI, his current focus is on automotive-grade Generative AI and LLM-powered solutions, pushing forward the magic transforming of the infotainment assistant into a truly smart and capable travel companion.

Before joining Cerence, Holger helped lay the groundwork for today’s intelligent interfaces. At Nuance, he led Automotive Solution Architecture and Product Management and pioneered Dragon Drive, the industry’s first fully hybrid voice platform – an early milestone on the path toward cloud‑edge AI. His career in speech technology began in 1998, spanning innovative roles at Philips Research, Philips Consumer Lifestyle, and the University of Technology Kaiserslautern. With a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Technical Mathematics, and 56 patents in smart voice and dialog systems, Holger continues to influence how conversational and multimodal AI evolves across sectors – automotive and beyond – helping define more intuitive ways for people to engage with technology.
